Infirm, elderly and larger dogs have special needs that can be met with the help of a good dog bed. Larger dogs, usually defined as any dog that weighs more than four stone, will, over time, find that their bone structure becomes more brittle, as their body exerts pressure on their skeleton. Because of this, as they get older, they need a soft but supportive bed that won’t place extra pressure on their bones. In cases like this, an old blanket or cushion simply won’t do. Small dogs, as they get older, can also incur hip and joint injuries after years of trying to jump onto too tall sofas and beds.
